brown paper packages tied up with string

Notes

Since I know I will not be getting these from Santa this year I might be a little tempted to buy myself a little summin’ summin’

Notes

ho, ho, ho!

I currently cannot endure listening to these 10 songs any longer:

10. anything Ke$ha

9. Nelly- Just a Dream

8. Whatever Peter Gabriel song is all over XM

7. The Arcade Summer (so dang trendy!)

6-1. CHRISTMAS SHOES!

Okay, the first time I was sobbed at a red light…8 years ago! Now I hear it 8 times a day, once every hour— enough is enough. I would rather here Ke$ha on auto-tune with a Nickelback chorus.

Right now I lurrrrrrrrrrve:

( in no particular order)

1. Nikki Minaj, Nikki Minaj, Nikki Minaj

2. Sparks - T. Swift.

3. Kurt & Blaine’s “Baby It’s Cold Outside” from Glee!

4. Grenade - Bruno Mars. Is it just me or is he seriously an original looking MJ?

5. Monster- Bon Iver, Rick Ross, HOVA, Kanye, & my girl Nikki (she definitely makes it).

6. The Cave- Mumford & Sons

7. ROLLING IN THE DEEP- ADELE (#1)

8. Chamber Music Society- Esperanza Spalding

9. You Are The Best Thing- Ray LaMontagne (this will always make my heart warm no matter how popular it gets)

10. The Ghost Inside- Broken Bells

11. for good luck- the entire Harry Connick Jr. Christmas album

Jonathan Safran Foer’s new book is insane.
His new book, “Tree of Codes,” is a collection of die-cut pages from his favorite book, Bruno Schulz’s “The Street of Crocodiles.” Made as an exploration of “the pages’ physical relationship to one another” and the die-cut technique, Foer attempts to create a meaningful narrative with an existing text.
Printers didn’t want to touch it, saying “the book you want to make just cannot be made.” Until, of course a Belgian printer said Challenge Accepted, and this was made.
IF ONLY I HAD $40 TO SPARE. Books, you will truly just be the death of me. Click through for more photos. Well-worth the click, I am telling you.

ahh today is a very bittersweet birthday. this is the first, of many, birthdays where i have to work and will be too tired to celebrate like it was 1999. it is a little sad but i think it was time to grow up. in 12 more hours it will be over and it will be just another wednesday. a lot has happened in a year and a lot will happen in the next year. so i better get a move on!
my parents gave me a card that said something along the lines of “when you were little you were doing pirouettes, now you are still dancing through life just to a different tune.”

Breast cancer has been transformed into a market-driven industry. It has become more about making money for corporate sponsors than funding innovative ways to treat breast cancer.” - Health Studies researcher Samantha King, author of Pink Ribbons Inc.

this photo was taken right before i dropped my camera onto a boulder due to a bad case of karma.  i knew i had it coming so in light all i could do was laugh.
i try not to get bent out of shape when possessions are lost, damaged, ruined, etc. i do work hard for what i own but none of it is what i truly value.
i don’t understand how someone’s mood could really alter after losing a phone or when their ipod stops working. yes— allow yourself to be upset for 5 whole minutes, take a deep breath, smile, and move on.
but, i can understand if your computer crashes with all of your final term papers. that truly sucks because that has happened to me and i’m still breathing.
i try to take everything for what it is worth, literally.
